I Hab a Cobe
(sound it out... it'll make sense... really...)
Between Blogspot issues (if having "text color" and "blockquote" in text instead of symbols on the toolbar is the only reason, I'm going to be... unimpressed) and my lingering case of the yuckies (between the cough and the fever - which I think just broke- I'm having trouble staying awake), I'm not so sure about posting today. Doesn't really help that there isn't a whole lot of new news going on.
While I have the ability to post, here's the interesting tidbits I found in the news today (like I said, not much):

Doesn't really help that there isn't a whole lot of new news going on.
While I have the ability to post, here's the interesting tidbits I found in the news today (like I said, not much):
- The Pope has a feeding tube. We wish him luck. Hmm... does he have a living will?
- Australia is experiencing a patriotic baby boom. Or, at least a tax break baby boom. Whatever works, right? (Hey, that's one way to save Social Security!!! Just sayin'...)
- Today's teens aren't taking as many risks (the bad kinds- you know... drugs, crime, etc.) as previous generations. Unfortunately, they're still inhaling the Krispy Kremes. Well, it's a start, right?
- Colorado's governor, who campaigned on conservative values, has come between a rock and a hard place, trying to decide whether or not to sign a bill that will potentially help rape victims, but vioate the religious freedom of Catholic hospitals. Since I'm no longer Catholic, I technically don't have a dog in this hunt. (Would it have been so difficult to put in a religious objection clause in the bill? I mean, really, people. THINK!)
- Johnnie Cochran has passed away. Yeah, he was a lawyer, and he defended some people of questionable character. But... you have to admit... he was entertaining, and he was obviously good at what he did. Prayers and sympathy go out to his family in their time of grief.
- A pagan priest, Specialist in the US Army, has been found guilty of willfully disobeying orders. He (and his wife) say it's because of their religion. I say it's because he was violating the UCMJ. Dude, parking yourself in front of someone's office every day instead of doing your job is not the way to make friends and influence people. That's how you end up busted. But, I guess you know that now.
- Fourteen illegal aliens were arrested at Logan Airport. This is not the first time. This is just plain scary people. Background checks work every time.
- A cop is in trouble for pulling over a doctor... who was on his way to deliver a baby. This guy really doesn't need to be a cop. I'm sure there is a better job out there somewhere for him.
- Cousins who couldn't marry in Pennsylvania crossed into Maryland and were married in a civil ceremony. Yeah, I know you can't control who you fall in love with, and I know the laws are in place to prevent birth defects, but... ew. Don't think so.
- The Supreme Court of Colorado tossed out a death sentence because at least one (and up to five) of the jurors read the Bible during deliberations. The jurors are supposed to make a moral decision (based on the rule of law and their personal belief systems) and yet they can't reference the Scripture that the defense repeated referenced during the trial. Did I get that right? That's what I was afraid of...
