Rumors of My Disappearance...

... were not so greatly exaggerated.

So, I'm sitting here Sunday afternoon, watching a little NASCAR, checking the e-mail, chatting with a couple of friends (while my children saved the world from something on the other computer, I'm sure), and the 'net goes silent. Took me a minute to figure out that I wasn't being ignored, but I finally figured out that my internet access went *poof*. This has happened before, this will happen again. No problem. Since I had a few minutes to kill before the cable company figured out what happened, I ran to the store for emergency provisions (we ran out of milk - oh, no!- and snacks for school).

Came back. Still no 'net. Drat. Oh, well... putter around the house a bit. Still nothing. This is not good. Oh, well... I'll just go to bed. It will be up in the morning, Right?

Wrong. Got the boys off to school. All those errands I'd planned on doing in the afternoon? Moved those up to morning. Got home. No joy. Fiddle. No time to worry about it. I have stuff to get done. Company's coming.

Oh, wait... everyone does know that the Texas Blogfest 2005 convinced the Humble DevilDog (HDD) that the Great Cheesehead Invasion of Texas was moved up from sometime in the future to sometime in the next 3 months, right? Just checking...

I didn't even touch my computer yesterday. First, I took HDD around town looking for a new Humble DevilDog Dwelling (I think he's narrowed it down to two.) Then we wandered down to Tinyville to meet up with Denita TwoDragons and Zane, along with my blog-bro Mr. Minority and his lovely wife, Mrs. M. (Yes, the food at the Tex-Mex restaurant is just as yummy as Denita has told everyone. And, the Minorities are just as wonderful as I thought they'd be. And, yes, D was right... HDD eats a lot of food. More on that, in a bit.)

Today, HDD and I ran around town a bit more today, and then we met Hubby at Fuddruckers. HDD managed to inhale a one pound hamburger and a large order of frings. When he is hungry (which, as close as I can tell, is most of the time he is conscious), he can almost eat his body weight in whatever munchies happen to unlucky enough to be within reach. He scares me. He truly scares me. Especially since I nice, normal chicken sandwich and a regular order of frings and was stuffed.

So... after lunch, we made a quick stop at Sheplers and HDD made a little purchase (in black). When I dropped him off at the airport(which he was not happy about- he's ready to move NOW), he was looking like the proper Texas gentleman, ready for next year's blogfest pilgrimage to Billy Bob's (uh... that is still on the agenda, right?).

Drove home (during rush hour), informed T1 that it was his turn to make dinner (which he seemed fine with), and I took a nap. A long nap.

For those of you who were worried about me... wow. Thanks! As far as I know, I'll be back to my old posting self tomorrow. For now... g'night!
