When You're Out of Time
It happens all the time. You have friends... close friends. You do things together all the time, share your lives. Then, somehow, over time, Life invades, and you drift apart. Not because of any malice... just Life. You talk once in a while, or maybe not even that often. Years can go by, and you hardly notice. Your friends cross your mind, and you think, 'hmm... I wonder how they are doing?' but you never wonder quite enough to pick up the phone. You'll do that another day, when you have more time.
And then the phone rings, and you are out of time.
I got that phone call today. The wife of a friend passed away. She was my age.
Don't just wonder. Pick up the phone. Write the letter. Send the e-mail. You never know when you will be out of time.
