Round We Go
Yeah... I need to post more... here's a start.
General:
General:
- Does this mean that there will be a French school in NYC? Maybe a German one, as well? How about one devoted to Judeo-Christian culture?
- The interim Palestinian PM says they're not ready to take control of West Bank. Tell us something we don't already know.
- Two Presbyterians (last name Smith, dontcha know) were arrested in South Carolina for having a bomb in their car. No links to terrorism, the FBI says. Yeah, right.
- A musical billed as a "madcap gallop through the wacky world of international terrorism"? Where can I buy tickets? Fatwa in 3...2...1...
- States forge boldly ahead (mostly for good, some for stupidity) where the feds fear to tread when it comes to immigration. Liberal judges are just chomping at the bit to put stays on anything and everything in their sights.
- Reason # I've-lost-count to homeschool.
- It's pretty sad when I'm no longer surprised when I see the words "Muslim" "soldier" and "murder" in the same story, even when the story is about a murder in California.
- We've lost track of almost 200,000 weapons in Iraq. Lovely. Just plain lovely.
- Tons of repaving stone was sitting on the bridge in Minneapolis when it collapsed, and more was waiting on the deck. Did it contribute to the collapse? No one knows yet, but it doesn't stop the talking heads from pointing fingers, does it?
- I didn't realize that city planning meetings could be so stressful.
- You know, I can't say a single thing about this story that won't sound racist. It wouldn't actually be a racist remark, but it would be taken that way by people just looking to be offended.
- So... Islam is a religion of peace, right? No compulsion to convert, eh? Tell that to her.
- No matter how you phrase it, it's still killing babies.
- "English Only" isn't welcome around those parts, I guess.
- How "not fully clothed" was the guy who jumped the White House fence?
- The fact that Al Q might have a cell in the US is hardly a surprise, is it?
- Explosive sheep? Won't that cut down on available dates for those guys?
- Islamabad is a bit miffed about being the center of political attention. You know... I'd just bet that the spot light would move from them if they just took care of their little jihadi infestation. Just a thought...
- Thus proving, once again, that Congress Critters are completely clueless when it comes to the oil industry and the economy in general, the House passed a $16 billion tax bill for oil companies. And who will they blame when gas prices skyrocket?
- Is it a good thing when candidates are trying to cozy up to Jon Stewart?
- So much for political debate, eh?
- Ron Paul was the only idiot when it came to Iraq in the recent GOP debate.
- Too bad Tancredo isn't a viable candidate.
- Well, we have the Log Cabin Republicans... the Dems have the rest.
- Lefty bloggers want to form a union. Who's the oppressive boss?
- At least Nancy admits she was lying (basically) when she said she was going to end earmarks. (And her earmarks are so... progressive, don't you think? I mean, bioweapons? How... neocon of her.)
- Why should we support Rudy when his daughter doesn't even back him?
- Tom Glavine won his 300th game. Not bad. Not bad at all.
- A-Rod and Bonds make a little history on the same day. Here's hoping A-Rod keeps making history... surpassing Barry every chance he gets.
- The pitcher that tossed up the record-tying ball for Bonds got tossed back to AAA. But it had nothing to do with that pitch. No, really. It didn't.
- Speaking of Barry... well, Brian Johnson sure is.
- Michael Irvin grows up. All I can say is... "wow. Preach on."
- The bad news is the Brewers lost. The worse news is the Cards keep losing. The good news? Cubbies lost, even if it was to the Pond Scum.
- "Jane! Stop this crazy thing!" (ok... not an accurate reference, but... it still works.)
- "Green" doesn't always mean good for you.
- Just when you think you have the whole geology thing figured out... plates move backwards.
- STS 118 is ready for launch on Wednesday evening. Forgive me if I'm a little wary, considering what happened the last time they tried the whole "teacher in space" thing.
- Are we sure we want Martians reading cheesy sci-fi?
- So, in New Zealand, vegans are searching out like-stomached mates. Something about omnivores being animal graveyards or something like that.
- Is being forced to eat 50 bananas considered cruel and unusual punishment?
- I guess everyone needs a hobby, right?
