Headlines... Get Your Headlines Here
It's been a little while since I ran through the headlines for you. Some of these are going to need a little commentary.
General:

- The FBI is warning that AlQ might target shopping malls this holiday season (the feds have since backed down a bit, saying they're not all that worried about it). (I'm not a big mall rat to begin with, and, with a few exceptions, I prefer to do my shopping online. But, I can see how a couple of small attacks, relatively easy to pull off, on Black Friday would cause a huge dent in the economy.)
- So... the Surge isn't working... right?
- Wesley Snipes is a... bigot? regionalist? narrow-minded racist? idiot? We'll go with idiot. What else do you call a person who judges an entire county based on preconceived biases with no recent basis in reality? (Of course southerners would find more pride in the Confederate flag- they actually know what it stood for... and it wasn't racism.)
- CAIR is going after Michael Savage now. (I'm not a fan, but I can't find a single thing quoted in the article that is wrong.)
- While I am definitely anti-abortion, I have to agree with this judge. You can't threaten to kill a doctor or incite others to violence. (But I don't think this is "domestic terrorism" as the Assistant US Attorney asserted.)
- This makes me feel safe. A "lyrical terrorist" working at Heathrow. Well, yeah... her poetry is terrorism... on our sensibilities.
- Well, that's one way to make sure the flight lands on time.
- Harry Reid explains why violence is down in Iraq- evidently our soldiers have run out of people to kill because of all the ethnic cleansing. (Funny that the comment was left out of his official statement released to the press- check out the commentary at the link.)
- The House is debating pulling troops out of Iraq... again... (I'm actually in favor of the continued debate- it gets the Dems on the record concerning their disdain for the military and it keeps the House from doing any "real" work.)
- Speaking of the House and the Iraq war... 58 votes this year alone? And we wonder (or are grateful... take your pick) that this Congress is known for its do-nothing session.
- Why is Joe Lieberman still a Democrat? I mean, I know he's not a conservative, but... come on, Joe...
- We finally have a newly confirmed AG.
- Earl Dodge, presidential candidate in every race since 1984, passed away.
- Of course Shirley McClaine is happy that Dennis the Menace admitted he's a UFO nut.
- It can't release the Hillary documents until sometime after November, 2008, but the Clinton Library has no problem releasing its UFO files. Go figure.
- Am I the only one who has never heard of chessboxing?
- I think both sides are right in this, and Williamson seemed to have a good attitude about it (but I don't think he should appeal it).
- I wonder if the "she's gonna blow" crowd is going totally bonkers over this. Yes, at some point, the Yellowstone caldera is going to blow... again... and we're supposed to do what exactly about it?
- The founder of the Weather Channel has called global warming a scam. But there's a consensus, don't ya know?
- Beauty contests for camels? Yeah, I know y'all are thinking about posting certain jokes and/or comments, but... it's a family blog, ok? Keep it clean...
- A Small World is getting a little wider... and deeper... but it's not because of obesity... no, really...
- Dog attacks bear and lives.
- I guess I shouldn't complain when I get calls for Home Depot.
