Who Didn't See This Coming?

There is this interesting weather phenomenon called the Gore Effect. In a nutshell, many times when The Goracle has scheduled a talk about the impending doom of Global Warming Climate Change, the temperature tanks. Two examples come to mind immediately- his visit to NYC when there was record low temps, and the trip to Harvard (at least, I think it was Harvard) where the school had to provide hot soup and cider to keep the students warm while The Goracle preached spoke.

Today, there is supposed to be a hearing on Capitol Hill to discuss the evils of Global Warming Climate Change. Cue winter storm in 3... 2... 1... (here's the text of the Drudge link, just in case it changes):
Al Gore is scheduled before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday morning to once again testify on the 'urgent need' to combat global warming.

But Mother Nature seems ready to freeze the proceedings.

A 'Winter Storm Watch' has been posted for the nation's capitol and there is a potential for significant snow... sleet... or ice accumulations.

"I can't imagine the Democrats would want to showcase Mr. Gore and his new findings on global warming as a winter storm rages outside," a Republican lawmaker emailed the DRUDGE REPORT. "And if the ice really piles up, it will not be safe to travel."

A spokesman for Sen. John Kerry, who chairs the committee, was not immediately available to comment on contingency plans.

Global warming advocates have suggested this year's wild winter spells are proof of climate change.

Developing...
It's not nice to fool Mother Nature (to quote the old commercial). "She" is so upset by all of this Global Warming Climate Change nonsense that her little temper tantrum will stretch all across the Fruited Plain. Here, in the land of the 2 week winter, we'll have a winter storm warning posted for tonight and tomorrow morning. Granted, it is supposed to be 54 tomorrow afternoon, but it's supposed to sleet and snow tonight.

Thanks, Al. Thanks a bunch.
