Yeah, Right, Whatever

Yeah, I haven't been writing much lately. Sorry 'bout that. Yes, there is a lot going on... just not a lot I feel like talking about. I mean, President Obama is finishing the job of destroying the economy because the Democrats over the past 30 years haven't managed to get it done. He does have a humorous way about him, however- next year, I think I'll just tell the IRS that the code is too complicated and no one can get it right... just like how many of President Obama's appointment selections?

I did find a couple of things worth at least mentioning:

• Thanks to the First Lady, I've learned a new word. Solipsistic: extreme preoccupation with and indulgence of one's feelings, desires, etc.; egoistic self-absorption. Now, I'm not sure if I agree with the current meme of referring to the First Lady as a Klingon. I'm of two minds about it. Part of me says, "well, they did it first!" The other part of me says, "but do I really want to be like them?" I suppose conservatives have to be the mature ones, right? (h/t to Ace's place for the link to the story.)
• Speaking of First Ladies... former First Lady (and former First Mom) Barbara Bush is resting comfortably after open heart surgery. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  
• After wandering through Gateway Pundit's place, I can't point you to just one post. He's become a great source of timely info.
• I'll admit it. I'm going to defend the President for a moment. Yes, I'm feeling ok. The NYT points out that President Obama has begun to go gray. They do point out that it happens to all Presidents- the stress of the job makes them gray at a faster rate than your average person. Yeah, well... he still has less gray than I do, and I'm 8 years younger than he is. Come on, Times! Find something real to report on... if you have any true reporters left, that is.
• *insert eye roll here* Great Britain has fallen one step further into irrelevance- they're giving Uncle Teddy an honorary knighthood. Why? Just... why???
• Voters remorse? That didn't take long.
• Jay Nordlinger has a good piece up at NRO about Rush.
• Content warning for this last link. It's a LOL (with several different captions) of a pic taken at a Madonna concert. Would it be so funny if it wasn't true?
